Wet the surface of the boots using cold or lukewarm water. Avoid soaking them excessively, and-crucially-do not use hot water; high temperatures can weaken the adhesive bonding the soles and compromise the leather's natural elasticity, potentially causing the soles to detach or the boots to shrink. The correct cleaning method involves using a clean sponge or a soft-bristled brush to scrub the entire surface thoroughly and evenly; a soft-bristled toothbrush can also be used to assist with the process. After washing and rinsing, you can place the boots in the washing machine for a brief spin cycle (a few minutes) to remove excess water. Allow the boots to air-dry naturally; do not use a tumble dryer or expose them to direct, intense sunlight. When drying, place the boots upside down with the soles facing upward; they should dry completely within one or two days. You may notice slight shrinkage once they are fully dry, but rest assured-this is normal. After wearing them for about an hour, the boots will regain their original warmth and comfort-and, more importantly, they will be clean and look great! Once cleaned and dried, you can apply a waterproofing spray (such as CGM) to enhance water resistance. Finally, use a specialized suede brush to gently brush the surface in one direction; this helps restore the natural, smooth, and beautiful texture of the suede nap.
By following these proper care instructions, your boots can last for years.
